Anne, yes, I always get nervous when some general becomes the pet of the nation, especially if he's fluent in democrat :-)Dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14523194846272870013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5349472.post-55660342289843237832012-11-16T09:54:23.426-08:002012-11-16T09:54:23.426-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04979547096244105508noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5349472.post-36794415060651949822012-11-16T09:53:38.682-08:002012-11-16T09:53:38.682-08:00I guess it's a sign of the times. Today it'...I guess it's a sign of the times. Today it's "poor judgement" for a general to have an affair. A generation ago, when Eisenhower was having an affair with his jeep driver, it wasn't a matter of national security, nor did it end his career. But, as Maureen Dowd said, Petraeus showed really poor judgement when he persuaded the then new president Obama to prolong the war in Afghanistan. What I hope will come of all this tawdriness is that the American public will be less likely to uncritically adore generals and the military.Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04979547096244105508noreply@blogger.com
