And I was thinking this morning of a remark your friend Michael made and that you reported here years and years ago, something to the effect that "we're all Christians, whether we like it or not."<br /><br />The age of the printing press vs. today's communication: I think of Milton, whom you quote, who put down his poetry and became a pampheteer when power took too much on itself.<br /><br />So many of my stands on issues now seem beside the point or almost like distractions. I wonder that someone hasn't run for office on a pro-democracy platform alone just to emphasize how Russian infiltration into (at least) our social media and voting systems -- an existential issue for all of us -- can hide behind the latest mass shooting, something the candidate would of course hasten to add is not a second-rate issue . . . okay, so maybe I don't wonder.Peterhttp://slowreads.comnoreply@blogger.com
